Our mission is to be the provider of choice in the outsourcing of logistic support services,
specifically freight payment and transaction processing. BBA strives to be the employer

Our History
BBA was founded in 1972 by Ivan Berman. A charismatic and outgoing individual, Ivan had
sold a successful business and was looking for a service that provided long term value to it's
client base. His exploration took shape at the urging of several long time Accounts
Payable contacts. Ivan quickly realized the transportation related data contained on a
freight bill had no value unless it was converted to information. The key distinction
between data and information became clear as the long term value shifted from an outsource
Accounts Payable function to a transportation data warehouse.
Don Berman joined BBA followed by Ann Butler and Harold Baldauf, who joined the operations staff and
began building and changing the company to a transaction-based process and information company.
In 1986 Ivan sold the company to Don Berman and Harold Baldauf and they began the process of
embracing technology toward the delivery of transportation information. From flat data
files to robust relational databases to a menu of web-based services, BBA continues to embrace the
use of technology that turns data into information.
